THE POSTMODERN LUXURIES OF SELF-DISCOVERY
Our consumer culture produces an infinite number of archetypal figures which represent our human psyche, our aspirations and our dreams. These figural representations fluctuate with changes in social and cultural values, and become little kitsch humanist icons passed on to the aftermarket of thrift.
In The Postmodern Luxuries of Self-Discovery, I am exploring the re-contextualization of these archetypes by using theatrical and film-making principles of mise-en-scene to create new life and new meanings for the disposable characters who once meant so much to someone.
